Benzene

HPL manufactures 85 KTA of Benzene with license from Lurgi, Germany by Sulphur Extraction Process of the Pyrolysis Gasoline fraction.

Benzene is used as a raw material for manufacture of many industrial chemicals and products such as Phenol, Cyclohexane, Styrene, Alkylbenzene, Aniline, Chlorobenzene etc.

Butadiene

HPL is a leading manufacturer with capacity of 82 KTA of Butadiene using extractive distillation process from crude C4 stream.  Export of Butadiene through Haldia Port to South East Asia and Far East Asian Markets allows lower logistics cost.

Butadiene is predominantly used as monomer for production of wide range of polymers and copolymers such as Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR), Poly Butadiene Rubber (PBR), Nitrile Rubber, Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), etc.

CYCLOPENTANE

Product Details & Applications

HPL manufactures 15 KTA of Cyclopentane with license from IFP, France. It consists of Cyclopentane (95% w/w), Isopentane and n-Pentane. Cyclopentane is a low boiling hydrocarbon, insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents such as hydrocarbons, alchohols, ketones and esters.

Cyclopentane is completely free from halogen compounds such as chlorine or fluorine and therefore does not contribute to Ozone depletion.

Cyclopentane also has Zero Global Warming Potential
(http://www.epa.gov/ozone/defns.html).

Cyclopentane is used as substitute of CFC-11 as blowing agent in rigid PU foam due to its superior performance and environmental friendliness.

Advantages of Cyclopentane

  • The ozone depletion potential of Cyclopentane is zero, and helps in ecological conservation.

  • High insulation efficiency

  • High blowing efficiency

  • Excellent adhesion to facia

  • Easy handling at room temperature

  • Chemically stable & no corrosive effect
