Market Development

One of the primary activities of BDG (Business Development Group) to facilitate end use development with an aim to enhance market pie of Polyolefin based finished products in eastern region through identification of potential users/Govt. nodal decision making agencies and make awareness of the products through regular promotional campaign, meetings, seminar/workshop etc.

HDPE Pipe

Extensively working with advisory/implementing departments of the Govt. of all the states of Eastern India including West Bengal to introduce more HDPE pipes in their respective projects.

Facilitated to incorporate HDPE pipes in some of the major projects of drinking water supply/irrigation/sewerage distribution in Eastern India.

  • Sewerage Management project of NMCG [ National Mission For Clean Ganga] in West Bengal

HDPE PE100 pipe up to 315mm OD has been incorporated in SOR [Schedule of rates] of PHED of Govt. of West Bengal which will cover almost 90% of distribution pipeline of any water supply projects.

HDPE Sand Bag

HPL identified sand bag, as a low cost solution for river bank erosion protection project. Since river bank erosion control is one of the major issues in West Bengal, it has not only got a good potential, but also has an immense social impact.

HPL facilitated to develop BIS standard (IS 14252:2015) UV stabilized HDPE woven sand-bags by a West Bengal based HPL downstream unit.

Facilitated to introduce HDPE sand bag into Unified Schedule Of Rates (USOR) of Irrigation and Water Ways Dept. (I&WA), Govt. of West Bengal in Jan’2018 – with repeated follow up of secretary and other higher officials of I&WA. The potential of sand bags in I&WA

project is~ 10 Cr [~ 6500 MT] bags per year.

Commercial supply started to I&WA, Govt. of West Bengal in 2018 end. I&WA Dept. already used this product in river erosion control projects at

  • Diamond Harbour, Kakdwip,Mousuni Island of South 24 Parganas
  • Basirhat, Barrackpore, Bhangor, Deganga of North 24 Parganas
  • Amta, Udaynarayanpur, Howrah etc

As initiatives of usage development, HPL BDG is promoting various low cost products like FIBC Dhangola, for storing paddy and other agriculture produce, Agri-Marketing Dept, Govt. of West Bengal under various innovative Govt. schemes like “Amar Dhan Amar Gola”

IM Paddy Seedling Tray

HPL developed injection moulded Paddy seedling tray for faster germination even at hostile climate and for mechanised sowing of paddy seedlings with the help of downstream processor in West Bengal

Introduced to Agriculture Dept, Govt. of West Bengal and launched during “Boro” season 2018

Plastics & Environment

HPL being a corporate entity of India is creating awareness among the teachers and students on responsible use of Plastics and plastic waste management through segregation at source. Working with Kolkata Municipal Corporation in spreading awareness on segregation of plastic waste at source, collection of segregated waste and promoting recycling.

Activities till date

  • Meetings with Indian Centre For Plastics in Environments
  • Meeting with Commissioner –KMC,DG-SWM of KMC, Chief Engineer –KMC for discussion on Plastic waste to Pyrolysis Oil fuel at Dhapa dumping ground and also on Plastic waste Management
  • Meeting with CEO-NKDA [ Newtown Kolkata Development Authority] to discuss on plastic waste management
  • Conducted two days campaign & presentation deliberations on “Responsible Use of Plastics” with MMIC- Education Spl Commissioner, senior officials of Education Dept. of KMC and teachers of 350 KMC primary and “Shishu Sathi” schools in Oct’19
Top
